I just ♥ Thailand!
We started our trip in Bergen, taking the first possible flight to London. We spendt the whole day in London. Shopping, visiting Hyde park, photographing and catching up with each others lives. Then we took a night flight to Bangkok. It didnt actually take forever, cos we got to sleep a lot. Our three days in this great city went too fast, so we decided to stay for another day. Tradition true, we stayed at a Radisson hotel. I really loved Bangkok! Busy people, lot of traffic, good shopping ;) Got an amazing manicure.
The next day: Chiang Rai. Whole different scenery! Most ppl we met there (lokals) didnt speek english. After a day in Chiang Rai, we took the buss to Laos border. We waited in line and filled out papers for 20 minutes and paid 36 $ for a visa, and stayd in Laos only a couple of hours. Unbelievable warm weather there! 1000 steps later we were guests in a buddhist temple. Great view from up there!
We discovered that all people can get mosquito bites in north Thailand... even though we did sleep in those nets we so humorously bought just before we left Norway.
Then we spent three nights in Chiang Mai. We stayd at a very nice hotel. Great service, amazing food. There was a pool there with an amazing shade of green water. (This one became the fav).
Next on the list: Phuket. We stayd at the Hilton arcadia resort and spa. Felt like getting pampered! The hotel was perfect :) Lots of swimming pools, restaurants and a good spa. Got some amazing massages.
Shopping in Phuket was OK. Dont like these kinds typical tourist spots... Got a sucky mani pedi. Best think about Phuket was hard rock cafe. Great meal. Fun night out. Found an outlet senter not far from the airport :D Spent a couple of hours there... and a lot of money buying presents.
Phi Phi island hopping: phi phi don, phi phi leh, bamboo island, monkey bay, maya bay....
Got to see all these islands I`ve only read about. We took a speedboat, and got to experience huge waves. I almost fell out a couple of times. And I just HAD to wear a sundress that day... We got soaked!
The trip came to an end. We took a plane to Bangkok again... Spent our last night on the Novotel hotel only five minutes from the airport.
Had a GREAT trip!! Wanna go back someday.
